Working with UC Irvine

U.S. News and World Report ranks UC Irvine as the 13th best public university in the country. The university has 4 Nobel laureates, 25,000 students, 1800 faculty and a $3.7 billion annual impact on the Southern California economy. UCI produces over 140 invention disclosures per year and has over 400 inventions currently available for licensing.

The University's Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences is ranked as the 11th best computer science program in the nation by U.S. New and World Report, and eWeek magazine places the school in the top 10. The Bren school is now the largest computer science program in the UC system, with over 1200 graduate and undergraduate students and 67 faculty.

With credentials like these, it is easy to see how UCI can be the hub of an effort to bring more entrepreneurship to the Tech Coast region. Not only does the university offer tremendous technical resources, but it also provides strong business skills from the faculty and students of UCI's Paul Merage School of Business. Their business acumen is a great complement to the technical resources of the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences, the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and the UCI School of Medicine.
